available anywhere. Our professional staff of engine builders

build. When you purchase an American Speed built engine you're
buying over 35 years of experience in building and testing
hi-performance and championship racing engines. We don't mass
produce engines but custom build them one at a time with your
application in mind. Our secret to the power, quality, and
reliability of every engine is our complete control of every
phase of construction. |
All machine
work is performed in our own facility
using the latest hi-performance technology available today. Every
engine is fully blueprinted and balanced, individually machined
and assembled. Our engines undergo a numerous series of
assembly procedures before final assembly and dynoing. Every
engine from 275 hp to 850 hp is dyno tested and tuned to insure
power levels, reliability, and a
controlled break in procedure.
Our goal is to build maximum performance and reliability into an
engine that will give years of trouble free operation. A glance
through our brochure gives a good indication of the power and the
torque we make from our Chevrolet engines.
The highest quality parts are used throughout all our engines.
This includes: new GM 4 bolt main blocks, selected sonic tested 4
bolt main re-conditioned blocks, Dart engine blocks, Speed Pro and Perfect Circle rings,
TRW, JE, Manely, Mahle, and SRP pistons, ASE Super Stock rods, ASE
4340 H beam and I beam steel rods and Eagle rods, ASE, Comp Cams and Elgin camshafts, Crane, Comp cams, and
PBM rocker arms, Fel
Pro and SPM gaskets, Edelbrock intake manifolds, ASE, Eagle, Scat and Callies
crankshafts, ACL, Clevite and Federal Mogul bearings, MSD and Mallory distributors and
ignitions, Schuman and Mellings oil pumps, Canton and Stefs custom oil pans, Holley, Edelbrock, Demon carburetors, Air Flow Research, Edelbrock,
Dart and Brodix cylinder heads, ASE, PBM, and ATI dampners, Accel wires and plugs, Hays and Mcleod clutches.
At American Speed we eliminate the problems before they occur. We
are always testing and evaluating new parts and technology to
incorporate in our custom built engines. This enables us to
continually improve our product and give the customer more for his
